No. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. You'll be awake but feel nothing during extraction or implantation. Most patients watch a movie or listen to music throughout.
A typical session lasts 6–8 hours depending on the number of grafts. Mega-sessions of 3000+ grafts may run over two days for comfort.
New hair growth typically begins at 3–4 months. Full, final results are visible at 9–12 months as the transplanted hair matures.
Yes. Transplanted follicles are taken from the genetically resistant donor zone (back/sides of the scalp) and continue to grow for life.
You can return to office work in 3–5 days. Strenuous activity, swimming and gym should be avoided for 2 weeks.
FUE leaves microscopic dot scars that are invisible even with a buzz cut. FUT leaves a thin linear scar that's easily covered by surrounding hair.
